In April 2025, Dr. Galle and his wife traveled to Sonoma, California, to attend the annual meeting of the Carroll Hand Club. Held at the historic Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, the event also included excursions throughout the scenic surrounding area.
During the meeting, the Galles reconnected with leading orthopedic hand surgeons from across the country and their families. Each morning, Dr. Galle participated in surgical case presentations and heard academic lectures from some of the top practitioners in the field. In the afternoons, he and his wife joined fellow attendees for enriching local experiences, including a tour of Jack London’s estate, a visit to the Sonoma Mission, wine tastings, and exceptional dinners.
This gathering is one of Dr. Galle’s most cherished annual traditions. He values the opportunity to reconnect with peers and learn about the innovative research and surgical advancements being pioneered in the field. The meeting is regularly attended by some of the most respected names in hand surgery, including former presidents of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and authors of leading hand surgery textbooks.
Yet the Carroll Hand Club is about more than just professional development—it’s also about personal connection. The physicians’ spouses and children form lasting friendships through this unique and treasured tradition, making it a truly special event for all involved.
