Kirkland, WA Elbow Pain Specialist

Dr. Galle is trained to diagnose and treat various conditions that cause elbow pain. Some common types of elbow pain that he treats include:

  1. Elbow ulnar collateral ligament injury: Elbow instability can result from ligament injuries or even elbow dislocations. This particular ligament injury commonly affects baseball pitchers and many other overhead throwing athletes.
  2. Fractures: Fractures of the bones in the elbow, such as the distal humerus or radial head, can cause significant pain and require orthopedic intervention.
  3. Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis): Patients often describe a pain along the outside of the elbow that is worse with activity. It is often caused by repetitive overuse of the forearm muscles.
  4. Golfer’s Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis): Similar to tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow results from repetitive gripping or wrist flexion movements.
  5. Olecranon Bursitis: The olecranon bursa, a fluid-filled sac located at the tip of the elbow, can become inflamed and swollen, causing pain and tenderness.
  6. Elbow Arthritis: There are many different causes of elbow arthritis including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and even some types of infections.
  7. Tendonitis: Inflammation of the tendons around the elbow, such as the biceps or triceps tendons, can cause pain and limited range of motion.
  8. Nerve Pain: many patients describe a painful or tingling feeling.
  9. Arthroscopy: a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a small camera to look inside of a joint.

Dr. Galle may use various diagnostic techniques, such as physical examination, imaging studies (X-rays, MRI), and nerve conduction studies, to diagnose the cause of elbow pain. Treatment options may include rest, physical therapy, medications, injections, or surgical intervention, depending on the underlying condition and its severity.
