Hand/Wrist/Elbow Arthroscopy

HAND, WRIST, AND ELBOW ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON LOCATED IN KIRKLAND, WA

What is Arthroscopy?

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed by orthopedic surgeons like Dr. Galle that uses a small camera to look inside of a joint. This technique is helpful to diagnose joint problems with smaller incisions and has been around for many years. It is often used in the hand, wrist, and elbow as smaller incisions usually mean less rehabilitation after surgery. This is usually performed at an outpatient surgery center such as Proliance Eastside Surgery Center and patients usually return home on the day of surgery.

Why Might You Need Arthroscopy?

Dr. Galle may recommend arthroscopy if you have:

Hand and Wrist Conditions

  • Ligament injuries
  • Cartilage damage
  • Loose bodies
  • Fractures

Elbow Conditions

  • Loose bone or cartilage fragments
  • Stiffness or limited motion
  • Arthritis or cartilage wear

Of course, this is not a meant to be a complete list but rather a short introduction to a highly specialized technique in the world of orthopedic surgery.
